Thank you! And thank you for all the advise during your session.
I began listening to the cd on regular occasions once i’d finished work because my mind was fully focused on becoming a mummy by then.
The birth was not exactly how we wanted but I’ve always had in my mind that I would just go with the flow and what will be will be. I had a sweep a few days before my waters broke on the Tuesday evening at 5pm, brilliantly timed as Casey had just walked in the door from work. My contractions then started and quite rapidly were 5-3mins apart. I was determined not to go into hospital til I really had too as I didn’t want to be there for ages.
I really found myself getting into my own zone and just used breathing and a tens machine to help with the contractions. We eventually went to hospital at 10.30pm and the mid wife was lovely and took note of my birth plan which we wrote with help from your hand out. When she examined me when we arrived she told us I was already fully dilated, which was great and I was told to start pushing when I felt the urge. I was also told that zach was in a funny position, the back of his head was against my back and at a funny angle, but hopefully as I started pushing with the contractions he would turn. After several hours of pushing there was no progress, I was determined not to have a c-section so when they told me to push whilst they used forceps I pushed with all my might, 3 pushes and Zach was born at 3.30am on the wednesday.
The whole experience of pregnancy and birth was amazing and I really believe if I hadn’t done your day course I wouldn’t of stayed as calm and focused throughout the labour, especially as I really had hoped for a natural birth with as little pain relief as possible.
